Paolo Pinotti is Endowed Associate Professor of Economic Analysis of Crime in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University, Scientific Director of CLEAN, and Coordinator of Fondazione Rodolfo Debenedetti. He received his Ph. D in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2009 and worked at the research department of the Bank of Italy between 2007 and 2011. He is mainly interested in organized crime, immigration, political economy, and labor economics. He has published several articles on these topics in leading economics journals including the American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Economic Journal, Journal of European Economic Association, Review of Economics and Statistics, and American Economic Journal: Applied Economics. In 2019, he was awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant for the project “Clean Evidence on Dirty Deeds”.
